Spun Out (Anyone)

Dai saw the girl from behind the dock, but he smelled her first. She smelled like drugs and faintly like fear. He could tell she had no idea of her surrondings. He figured he had two choices; leave before she noticed him, or help the girl out. He wasn't sure which one he would do. He was afraid of her, but still worried about her. Who knew what could become of her in such a state...

Tobi looked up at the moon, wich grew a mouth and began eating the stars.

"Tobi, you are SO out of it."

She laughed hysterically, she didn't know what at, but all she knows is that she felt good.

Dai heard the girl laugh and grew scared.

"Great, now she's talking to herself!" He mumbled.

He paused.

"And now, I'm talking to myself! Geez, what do I do?"

He was really worried, so he decided to talk to the girl.

"Er..excuse me Miss?" He said quietly when he approached her, "Are you alright?"

She rolled her head to the side, eyeing the guy.

"You have no idea how alright I am right now."

She chuckled and looked him over.

"Umm..Miss, I don't think you're okay," Dai said polietly, "You seem a bit...out of it...to say the least."

"Hey, your pretty good looking."

Tobi said, not responding to his last comment. For a moment, everything went purple, then shifted around and swirled together in every splash of color that happened to be around her.

"You should come back to my apartment.."

She gave the stranger a drunk-looking smile.

Dai blushed slightly and shook his head.

"Why don't I sit here with you until you're feeling better, Miss? I don't really think you should try to go anywhere right now..."

He sat down beside the girl.

"I'm Dai, by the way. Dai Hiroshi."

Dai was freaking out. When she laid her head down, he thought Tobi was dead.

"Well, Tobi with an 'i', why don't you come to my apartment until you..er..calm down?"

He didn't want to embaress the girl by admitting how obvious it was that she was high.

Dai's eyes widened. He didn't quite understand what the girl meant, but he was pretty sure she'd taken what he'd said the entirley wrong way.

"N-no! Not like th-that! I mean, I just want to make sure your gonna b-be okay is all!"

He bit his bottem lip nervously.

This girl was seriously out of it.

Tobi closed her eyes, breathing heavily. The peak of the drug was about to pass.

"Well.."

She said, after the episode was over.

"Lets get to it, then."

She rolled over on her tummy and got on all fours, trying to push herself to stand up. Once she did, she wobbled a bit.

Dai grabbed Tobi's shoulders quickly, not wanting her to fall.

"A-are you okay now, Tobi with an 'i'?" He asked nervously.

Tobi leaned her head on Dai's shoulder, for stability.

"Yeah.. I alredy told you im fine. Thanks."

She smiled, not a drunken-looking smile, but a smirk.

Releif flooded Dai's face.

"That's good. I was really worried. I've never seen someone so...out of it before," He said, hinting slightly what he meant by 'out of it'

"So do you need me to walk you home or anything?"

Wait, if I do that, she may get high again, he thought worridly.

"Umm.. or maybe you want to crash at my place if it's closer?"

Dai wasn't exactly sure what that meant, but he didn't want to feel stupid, so he just nodded.

"We should go back to my apartment, then." He said with a faint smile on his face.

"Is that okay with you?"

"Sounds good."

Tobi streached her arms, still in a daze.

Dai led Tobi to his apartment slowly, so she could keep up. He wasn't quite sure how to handle her, weather to be gentle or not. She was the first person he'd encountered since he arrived at Japan, and his social skills were rusty, to say the least.

When Tobi and Dai got inside the apartment, Tobi dropped on the nearest chair.

"..Maybe I had too much."

She chuckled.

Dai went into the kitchen and brought Tobi back a glass of water.

"When it comes to drugs," He said softly, "Any at all is too much. Drugs and alcohol...they do crazy things to people." He shuddered, remembering how his father had acted when he'd been drunk.

"I suggest you stay away from them, or you'll lose yourself to them."

Tobi took the water and rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, yeah. Ive heard the speech before. I dont want to stay away, so im not. It makes me feel alive."

Dai sighed.

"I'm not going to tell you not to do it, but I will tell you this; sometimes those things that make us feel alive the most, end up killing us. If not physicly, than mentaly. It may feel good now, but later you'll end up wishing you'd never been introduced to it."

He sighed sadly.

"Just remember, the next person who finds you high on the beach might not be so friendly..."

"They don't have to be friendly. I take them as they are."

Tobi was still out of it, just not as deep into it anymore.

"Your just being stubborn."
